– Leaking and broken pipes
Here are some tips and tricks for what you can do in case of an emergency! Please note, these may not permanently fix your problem. Make sure you call us so we can ensure you’re taken care of!
1. Stop your water flow as soon as possible. Make sure you know where your shutoff valve is for everything in your home, including the main valve. If turning off individual valves doesn’t fix the problem, turn off the main valve for your home.
2. If you have a leak in your ceiling or notice water dripping, check the caulking to see if that needs to simply be re-done.
3. Make provisional repairs to stop any leaks if that’s possible.
4. If your sink is clogged, turn off any connected appliances and attempt to unclog it with a plunger. Do not use chemicals – this can make it worse.
5. Take precautions to make sure your pipes don’t freeze – let water slowly drip from all of the faucets in your home and wrap the pipes well with some sort of insulation.
